We had a visit

from the Tooth Fairy!! As many of you know Max lost his first tooth on Saturday night. Chad and I had no idea that he even had a loose tooth, but while he was brushing his teeth before bed that night he brushed that tooth right out of his mouth!! I know that these pics are not the best, I was trying to get a shot of the missing tooth but Max kept making these squirely faces. Of course it does not help that he has been so sick lately, he is beginning to feel better and I am hoping he can go back to school soon.

Addiction?

I think so!! I am beginning to realize how addicted my children are to video games. Of course, I totally blame Chad because he is also addicted (and we will not mention my Guitar Hero issues!!) The first thing Max asks to do when we get home is "daddy's Playstation"). If I say no then he precedes to request his gameboy, Spongebob game, or the computer!! He will then ask if he can go to Mimi's house and play the WII. He is becoming a monster!!

At least in this picture they are getting along. Max has been very sick this weekend. Yesterday he felt so bad he could not even play a video game, but today we are up and around enough to make it to the recliner!
And of course I cannot leave Boop out of the all of the fun.

Valentine's Day Fun!!

I went to Max's Valentine's class party so I could take pictures and when I see him with his friends and going to school it just hits me like a ton of bricks how old and independant he is getting!!
Max really only likes to lick the icing off the the cupcakes!!
Here is Max and Jacob, one of his best buds, playing a game at the party.
It amazed me that Max actually did patiently wait for his turn during some of the games. he does not do that at home!!
The kiddos played this really cute game called "Pick Your Nose" (and of course they loved the name of the game). Five or so kids would go behind this sheet and stick their nose in the hole. The other students would then try to guess who's nose it was. It was so funny and they loved it. If they could not guess by just looking at the nose than the child would say "Happy Valentine's Day" and then the class always knew who it was!!
Just a cute pic of Em that I took at the end of the parties!!

I've been tagged (and maybe so have you!)

So as some of you may all ready know, Kara has tagged me. I decided to play along because this one is kind of different, and although I really enjoy reading I do not find much time for it these days. Plus, once I start a good book I do not put it down. Nothing else gets done around my house (cooking, cleaning, laundry, sleeping, nothing!)

The instructions are as follows: We are going to see what kinds of books you all have lying close by. Here's what you have to do...
1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages.)
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Link back to the person who tagged you.
6. Tag five people.

1. Well, I just returned the books I read over Christmas break to my mother so I go in search of a book and I find "Extraordinary Faith" by Sheila Walsh on my nightstand. I will admit this is not the typical book you will find laying around my house. And I have only read a couple of pages. I usually read murder mysteries or romance or whatever my mom gives me and tells me is a good book. We have several of the same favorite authors.

2. Open the book to page 123. Find the fifth sentence.

3. Post the next three sentences.
"Did you hear the door slam shut?"
"It seemed to be closed from outside."
"No, it couldn't have been."

That is pretty wierd huh?

4. Link back to the person who tagged you. Kara
(That is the first time I have ever done a link, hope it works!!)

5. Tag five people. This should really be interesting because I do not read that many blogs and my mom and Kara read a lot of the same blogs. (Can't do mom, Kara, or Hilary because they have all ready been tagged)

1. Annie (because she needs to post more often and she is usually reading a book)

2. Britt (because I do think she has ever been tagged before and she needs to participate)

3. Leslie (because I do not think she has ever been tagged either)

4. Sally (I know she does not have a blog, but maybe this should be her motivation to start one, although I seriously doubt she is reading a book. Or are you still reading Harry Potter?)

5. Kortney (I would like to know what you are reading)

Okay mom I left Katie for you to tag (sorry but you are going to have to come up with some others on you own!!)

Rhyming Woes!!

For those of you who have had the pleasure of spending time with Max lately you will appreciate this story. He is learning all about rhyming words at school. Therefore, he enjoys having someone (anyone really) say a word and he will find a word that rhymes with it. He is actually getting pretty good. I will have to admit that at times Max does get stuck and on any given day he chooses a certain letter to substitute for the initial sound in the word (if he is having trouble coming up with a real word).

Ex:
Max: Mom say a word.
Me: Okay, cat
Max: hat
Me: good job Max, how about lake
Max: uh, hake
(now you kind of get the drift, not really a word but he is trying)

This evening I hear Max and Sam in their room playing. I had actually just mentioned to Chad that things were a little to quite for comfort. So I go to their bedroom to listen at the door and I hear Max giving Sam a rhyming lesson and I notice the sound of the evening was /f/ (ex: cat, fat ect). I thought it was cute and went on about my business. A little while later, Sam comes running into the kitchen and had a choice rhyme to share with his father that he was repeating over and over and over again.

Sam: daddy . . . . tuck -- __uck (I am going to let you fill in the missing sound of the evening)
he is saying it over and over and over.

I am in the other room listening to this conversation. I hear Chad say "What did you say?" So therefore Sam continues to repeat the rhyming words. Chad finally says "Go talk to your mother."

Sam comes into the family room and is quite proud of himself for this new "thing" his big brother has taught him and I see Chad standing in the door way watching to see how I am going to handle the situation. I say "good rhyme Sam, lets try another one" My diversion does not work, he does not want mommy to reteach what big brother has all ready taught and goes running off. Chad and I give each other looks as to say "What are you going to do?" "I do not know, you should handle this one!!" and so forth. Of course, we cannot help but laugh because our children do not know that this is a word that is not to be used. Needless to say the situation passed and we chose not to draw attention to the "undesirable" rhyme on this occasion and I am hoping that Max will not return to that "choice" sound for some time!!

Thank You!

I just wanted to say "Thanks" so all of those super volunteers (I guess not everyone volunteered, but some got roped into the job) who let us practicing scoping them this morning. Without medical guinee pigs what would we do? So thank you to Ed, Dad, Kara, Brandy, Les, Janice, Bert, Chuck, Wathina, Tina, Chad and whoever else I am forgetting. Kristi and I truly appreciate it. And to all of the rest of you who may "volunteer" in the future, ignore Chad's facial expressions it really is not that bad! I believe that he may be thinking he has done some things that may deserve painful revenge, but I would never . . .

Go Boomers!

The Boomers had their last regularly scheduled basketball game last night before playoffs started and both the boys and the girls finished with a win!! YEAH!! These are some pics from the game. Needless to say Max and Sam enjoy spending most of their time in the concession stand area and do not really care about watching much of the game.

Cash came to the game with his grandpa, but really liked the tootsie pop that Aunt Lacy fed him. He is so cute!!
Boop stayed home and bonded with daddy so I thought I would post a pic of him also. He is hard to take to the games because he does not enjoy staying in one spot!!
