How long is to long

to finish a project? As some of you know I did (began) somewhat of a kitchen makeover beginning last march. I am still working on the cabinets and I don't have anything on the walls yet, but I did finally purchase hardware (thank you e-bay!) As of right this moment I have completely finished 13 out of 32 cabinet doors and 6 out of 11 drawers! My goal is to have it all finished by the time school starts (exactly 14 days from now EEEK). Anyway, here is a pic if the hardware I chose. I don't know why the pictures make them look a little gold, but they are brushed satin nickel.

Just to let you know I do actually finish some projects. My front door needed a makeover so I painted it. Here is a before picture. It actually looks better in this picture than it did in real life! Trust me it was in pretty bad shape.
Here is the color that I chose. Not Chad's favorite, but I think it looks better than it did before I painted it!

I also have a prayer request. My grandfather is having a heart valve replaced and bypass surgery tomorrow at 1:45 so please remember him in your prayers.

Poor Ben!

Seriously, I know some of you are probably beginning to wonder if we are capable parents! Ben took a little tumble last night (along with his father, right on down the driveway). Needless to say, these were the results. Chad was a little freaked out and Dr. K checked Ben out and said that he was okay. He was completely fine today. This kid is going to have to be the toughest kid on the block, his parents aren't leaving him any other choice!
Ben was exhausted by the time he stopped crying and he fell asleep in my arms before we put him to bed!
Here he is this evening eating an Oreo cookie!

Flashback

So here is a oldie to go into the weekend with. This was at Annie and Josh's rehearsal dinner in 2002. I am extrememly large because Max is on his way and Emily is about 6 weeks old! Picture quality is not that great sorry.
Here is a warning for some of you. I found some old highschool photos and I will be using those as flashbacks pretty soon!

I hope everyone has a great weekend. We are traveling to Owasso today to spend some time with the fam and have Ashley's baby shower. See ya when we get back!

Poor little guy!

As a lot of you probably know from my mom's blog we had to make a little trip to the emergency room last night. Max got his tonsils taken out last Wednesday and then last night he got his face glued back together after crashing off of his sit on scooter (for lack of another word to describe it). Doctor's order said that he was supposed to remain inside and inactive for 7 days (yeah, right). He was going stir crazy, as was I so we went outside for awhile. Not the best idea. This picture was taken this morning right after he got out of bed. He had just fallen down and bloodied his lip. Needless to say, we see alot of blood around this place!

She did it again!

How many times has that been my title? Katie took Sam's 4-year old pictures last time she was in town and of course they turned out great. I may be a little biased but the subject in theses pics sure is pretty darn cute! Thanks Katie, we love them and I am all ready having a hard time trying to decide which ones I want to order!

I just think this last one is too funny! He is cracking up and he laughs like this so often that I just love it!

Party Pics

So as I have mentioned before, we celebrated Sam's 4th birthday party last Sat. at Boiling Springs Pool. Sam was very blessed to get to have so many friends and family celebrate with us, and a special thanks to everyone who joined us from out of town! Everyone had a blast and the pool water felt great. Here are some pictures from the evening.

As always Sam is cheesing it up for the camera!

Here he is with his new Lightening McQueen bicycle.
Lots and Lots to open (and no where to put it when we got home!)

Yes, my husband thinks he is still 18 and needs to do tricks off of the board. Needless to say I got to hear about how sore he was for couple of days.
I do believe that Uncle Bert had something to do with Ben and these bowls.
Max is building up to his father's "tricks".
Sam cracked me up on the diving board. I didn't know if he was going to jump. He stood like this for awhile, then he turned around to leave, we thought, and instead he just took a big running start and sprinted off of the board, it was to funny!

Happy Birthday Sam!

Sam is really starting to act like a four year old. Some of the things he does just cracks us up. For instance, he was jumping from the couch to the bouncy horse today (not a good idea) needless to say he fell and hurt himself. I was telling him how he shouldn't do that and he responded with "I did it all the time when I was three and did not get hurt!" Too funny.
Anyway, here are some pictures of my baby. I really can't believe it has been four years since he was born. Time really does fly by!

This was Sam looking through the window when Ben was born. He was not so enthused and I believe he told my mother he did not want to take him home. He has since changed his mind and loves him to death. A little to Ben's dismay most of the time:)
Sally and I took the kids to McDonald's today to eat. It was upon Sam's request. He wanted to play at McDonald's and since we had his party on Saturday night I thought he should get a little special treat today also! Hopefully I will be posting birthday pics soon!Happy Birthday Sam, you are a joy, and always entertaining. You have blessed us in so many ways. We love you!

T-ball trials

T-ball is over for the year so I am a little behind on this post. Max really has not decided how he feels about the game. I do know that he made me feel very frustrated!! Everyone knows that Max is capable of running pretty well and he enjoys it (yes, exactly like his father, and nothing like his mother!) But when it came to running the bases you would have thought that he had never run before in his life. We (his parents) are still hoping the competitive bug will bite Max and since Kids Inc. t-ball is anything but competitive (no outs, everyone bats, don't keep score) maybe next year will be better! Half of the time he would have his glove over his face (he swore to me that he could still see) or be talking to his buddies in the field. Here are a few pics of his last game.
He is at least attempting some things during warm-ups.
Not looking so thrilled about playing second base, but at least his glove is not covering his eyes.
He does enjoy batting.
This was probably his favorite part of the game. Telling everyone how well they did!
We actually can wait until next year!

Great Wolf Lodge Part 2

These are just pics that show some of the water park. The kids loved this fort. They could run around and play in the water. There were also two smaller slides attached to it. This is just part of the kiddie section.
Here is a part of the outdoor park. There really is so much more, it is a little expensive, but in my opinion it is well worth it.

These pictures are from inside our room. We paid a little extra for a KidCabin Suite and it was pretty cute. They had a little room that was set up like a cabin with bunk beds and murals on the walls. The kids loved it of course and fought over who was going to sleep on the top bunk.

The hotel also had a magic quest game you could play. Of course you had to pay for the magic wands and they had things all over the place that you could activate with your magic wands. The kids absolutely loved it and I will have to admit it was pretty cool and Sally and I got into it also. The game sent you different places in the motel with clues to find different "things".

Swimming makes you build up an appetite and we had to take a couple of breaks to eat!

Just a couple of more pics of playing the the water!

Great Wolf Lodge part1

Warning: PICTURE OVERLOAD! Since there is so much to tell about our little trip I am making it in parts. More posts that way anyway! We just returned for Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, TX and we had a great time. Chad, Max, Sam, Bert, Sally, Emily, and I all loaded up and headed south on Sunday and we returned last night about 10:00 PM. I have to apologize for thw pictures they are not that great and I did not take that many. It is hard to take pictures at a water park (indoor and outdoor areas) where you literally get soaked everywhere you go! Plus I was in the water most of the time. Sally took a waterproof camera so hopefully she will have better pictures. Here are some fun ones of just playing around.

The kids loved these muffins (that is what Sam called them). You are really supposed to hold onto the ropes above your head, but the kiddos managed better like this! The big boys about killed themselves on these (yes Bert and Chad). They decided to just try and run as fast as they could across and see how far they got. I really wish I would have gotten a picture of that. We are lucky they are still walking.
